Downfall

Looking deep into the past,
I sometimes wonder why our ancestors had cast
The same people into different sections,
Their basic rights were full of dejections.
Greed took us in.
For gold, we butchered even our own kin.
Thus the seed that was sown,
Has now into a tree grown.
With all material comfort, our cistern overflows.
Yet to provide for the needy, we bleed through the nose.
When did man lose his noble nature?
When did he become so selfish and immature?
When did he leave the good way,
That God had devised one fine day.
To tread the path of thedemon king,
To act as his greatest agent in the act of sin.
Fellow men, I warn thee,
The path you follow is not a key,
To unlock the gates of content.
It merely misleads you, till with age you become bent.
Then will you find a door that will reveal,
The fire beyond, that will pull you into its veil.
My fellow men, I warn thee!
Be wary!
